Bridge Competition Class Project
December 2025 | University of Pittsburgh | Pennsylvania, United States of America
In this project, I worked with a team of four sophomore engineering students in designing a truss bridge for a design project in our Statics and Mechanics 1 class, ENGR 0135. The goal of this project was to create a truss bridge capable of withstanding a minimum load of 400 lbf. A major role I played was conducting a stress analysis of the bridge. This allowed me to deepen my knowledge of MATLAB programming. The goal was to determine whether minimal stress is induced in each joint of the bridge. Meaning the bridge must be capable of evenly distributing the load's weight to each joint to avoid early fractures. Along with this, I was also responsible for writing the abstract and conclusions of the bridge team paper. This allowed me to improve and practice my academic writing, especially in engineering.
